Sam Thomas

Sam Thomas is a newly minted graduate, and has a true passion for MDT.  Sam works for Southern Rehab Nelson in Richmond, Nelson. Originating from Wellington, Sam spent several years during his adolescence in Oregon, USA, before returning to New Zealand for his tertiary education where he earned a BHSc Sport and Exercise (2011) from Massey University Wellington and BHSc Physiotherapy (2015) from Auckland University of Technology.  He has completed Part A Lumbar Spine and Part B Cervical Spine, learning principles that have quickly left an indelible mark on his patient management.  He has a particular keenness for travel, music, culture and sport- namely basketball and soccer.  His academic/extracurricular interests lie in the promotion of physiotherapy and of postgraduate opportunities, cultural competence, and in the advancement of Maori and Pacifica peoples'.  His present work involves working in private practice with musculoskeletal injury, back pain management, and also community-based cardiopulmonary rehab.   Sam looks forward to furthering his education in MDT, and learning about how MDT can be best utilized across different populations and disciplines.
